MY PROUST QUESTIONNAIRE
Happy belated birthday, Proust!
I don’t know him, actually. Not really. I browsed his works, but could not follow him thoroughly. But I found out about this game of Q & A named after him in a popular music magazine (Mojo, I think) in an article about The Beatles and how interesting was Lennon’s answers to that questionnaire. It was actually a standard Victorian game, a period’s version of personality test. Proust filled the questionnaire in 1880s. His answers discovered in 1924, hence the name it has now. In 1993, Vanity’s Fair began to use the questionnaire to interview celebrities and placed them in every edition’s last page of the magazine.
Well, I don’t expect Vanity’s Fair will interview me at any time soon. Or ever. But it would be fun to do the questionnaire now, hours before maghrib in this year’s Ramadhan.
Here it is. Mine.
